Although the ADVENT Stun Lancer was initially developed by ADVENT to serve as less then lethal crowd control, that has changed. In the face of the increasing XCOM threat, these soldiers have been re-tasked as brutal, close-in melee fighters.

Their high mobility, dangerous charge and the ability to stun or knock soldiers unconscious makes them an important unit to lock down. Stun Lances have an innate +10 Aim bonus, and their stun effect is dependant on a stat check, the Stun Lancer's Strength vs the Target's Will.

Stun Lance
Attack a target in melee range with your Stun Lance, with a chance to inflict the target with negative mental effects.
Charge
Make a melee attack as part of a dash.
Center Mass
You do one additional point of base damage when using guns.

16% chance of applying after completion
Cutthroat
Your melee attacks against biological enemies ignore their armor, have a +15 critical chance, and do +2 critical damage.

67% chance of applying after completion
Infighter
Gain 25 dodge against attacks within four tiles.

50% chance of applying after completion
Lightning Reflexes
Reaction fire shots against you have a significantly decreased chance to hit. The bonus goes down with each additional reaction shot you face.

20% chance of applying after completion
