Installation
Hardmode offically supports OpenXcom Extended version v7.9.8+, see: https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php/topic,5258.0.html
To install the mod:
- Download mod here: https://mod.io/g/openxcom/m/hardmode-expansion - Extract Zip file - Copy over the directory "Hardmode_Expansion" in your user mods directory. (Normally under C:\Users\[your PC]\Documents\OpenXcom\mods on PC) - Active "Hardmode_Expansion" under Mods while in-game

Gameplay Settings
Hardmode is intended to be a standalone mod, mods which add new items/crafts will generally not cause issues but could upset the games balance.

The following mod I highly recommend to be used with Hardmode Expansion
Recommended Options
These options are recommended to be enabled or set to a certain setting for a more enjoyable/optimal/fun experience. These will be enabled on the first startup of the mod in OXCE. Feel free to turn them off if you feel uncomfartable with them.
- Show Funds on the Geoscape
- Forced Craft Launch - Craft will likely be taking constant damage, allows more reliable response
- Storage Limits for Recovered Items - Encourage selling excess items after combat
- Live Alien Sale - To compensate for the larger amount of live aliens X-COM will capture
- Realistic Globe Lightning
- Psi Training Anytime
- UFO Extender Accuracy - All weapons are balanced around this mod, it is fully supported
- Explosion Height, Set to 3 - Allow explosive weapons to destroy larger urban structures
- Path Preview shows TU and Energy Usage
- Saved Pre-primed Grenades - For smoke grenade usage
- Show Stats on Inventory Screen
- Sneaky AI
- Alternate Movement Methods - To enable better tactical options and faster fights
- Alien Bleeding
- Autosell Manager for OXCE

Optional Options or Mods

- Hardmode Expansion XcomUtil Always Daytime: Forces all Missions in Hardmode Expansion to be Daytime always
- Hardmode Expansion XcomUtil Always Nighttime: Forces all Missions in Hardmode Expansion to be Nighttime always
- Screening Statsstrings: My (hellrazors) statstrings for Soldierscreening and rolechanging
Incompatiable Options or Mods
These options conflict with the games settings, which could cause balance issues, game errors or will simply not work.
